Overview

British Airways required a new OSS solution to provide service visibility across UK campuses and every global destination where BA has a presence, for example within airports or BA travel shops.

The key business driver was network service visibility in order to reduce network outages and service down time which can impact on airline operations. The process required all the associated activities and phases of a program from requirements capture, through to the design, development and implementation of the solution.

A was implemented over a 12month period which was based upon COTS approach and included a number of vendor applications addressing the key technical capabilities such as network fault management, performance management and application performance analysis.  

Benefits to the Business 

The OSS program was implemented on time, within budget and provided end to end network service visibility not previously experienced in BA. The ROI was achieved within 12 months, significantly enhancing the operational efficiency's of the business.  IOSS lead the program throughout, including requirements capture, design, resource implementation and operational handover to BA staff.
